A brief note on the Annual scouts, guides, bulbuls and cubs held 3rd and 4th of October-2018
70 scouts, guides, bulbuls and cubs enthusiastically joined the camp on 3rd evening at 4pm. They had their inauguration at 5pm by Sr. Shruthi the Principal of the school, after which they prepared for the camp fire. At 8pm sharp the camp fire was inaugurated by Sr. Maria Anita the joint secretary of the campus institutions. On the following day the other students joined the units and the formal inauguration was done at 8.45 am by the group leader Karan in the presence of the esteemed Chief Guest Miss Lorna and the other invited guests Dr. N.G Mohan – District scout commissioner, Mrs Irine D’Cunha – District guide commissioner, Shri Vasanth Rao – Vice- President District Scouts and Guides, Shri Ramashesha Shetty- Scout Commissioner, Shri Prithesh – Youth Coordinator Rovers and Rangers. Mrs. Yamuna- Distrct Disabled officer, Women and Child Welfare Department, Sr. Ida Barboza A.C – A.C educational Secretary, Sr. Maria Anita A.C- Joint Secretary, Mrs. Irine Pinto- PTA President and Sr. Shruthi the Principal of St. Agnes Special School. All the guests were impressed by the discipline and order of the students .
The day was filled with activities such as, Kit preparation, Cooking without fire, Instructions from the Police Inspector, Adventurous games, action songs and treasure hunt. They also did the Shramadhan and cleaned the school premises and also the bus stand outside. The students were kept busy the whole day. The day came to an end at 3pm by lowering the flag. The students had an unique experience of staying together and doing the activities together. They were inspired by their motto “Be prepared”
The stated philosophy of the special school is that , every child has a right to learn and develop at his own pace regardless of race, creed and culture. This school provides a learning environment , where the activities of life revolve round the individual person allowing him or her, to reach out for the highest potential in an acceptable setting.
